TI Tax Calculator Administration field descriptions
Some fields are not available based on other settings, such as Tax Method. Fields are presented in alphabetical order within each section.
Primary Address
- City
-
City of the location to calculate taxes for.
- Country
- This field is only used by the Sovos interface. Sovos Sales and Use Tax (SUT) interface calculates tax only in the United States and Canada. For SUT, the country is determined based upon the zip code specified.
- County Code

The county code of the location to calculate taxes for. If you leave this field blank, the Sales and Use Tax System populates this field based on the city, state, and zip code you specify.
- Geo Code

Geo code or Tax Area ID of the area the product is being shipped to.
- Out of City

This option is only used by the Sovos GTD interface.
- State

State of the location to calculate taxes for.
- Zip Code

Zip Code of the location to calculate taxes for.
Secondary [Address]
- City

If your Tax Method is Sales and Use Tax (SUT), specify the City of the location to calculate secondary taxes for.
- County
-
If your Tax Method is Sales and Use Tax (SUT), specify the County code of the location to calculate secondary taxes for.
- Geo Code

If your Tax Method is Sales and Use Tax (SUT), specify the Geo code of the area to calculate secondary taxes for.
- Zip Code
- If your Tax Method is Sales and Use Tax (SUT), specify the Zip code of the location to calculate secondary taxes for.
Tax Basis
- Amount
-
Amount of the shipment to calculate taxes and determine jurisdiction for. If you specify an amount in the Exempt field, that amount is subtracted from the amount you specify in this field when determining taxes.
- Exempt

Amount of the shipment that is exempt from taxes. This value is subtracted from the value in the Amount field when determining taxes.
- Location
-
If the determine-jurisdiction routines have been used, this parameter carries a code indicating which location was used for tax calculation. Specify Point of Acceptance. The other values are not currently supported with Distribution SX.e: Point of Origin, Ship From, and Ship To.
- Product Code
-
Specify a product code to calculate taxes with a specific product code.

- Tax Type

Indicate whether to calculate Sales, Use, or Rental tax.
Taxes
- City Tax
-
Shows the amount of city tax calculated for the parameters you specified.
- County Tax

Shows the amount of county tax calculated for the parameters you specified.
- District Tax
-
This field is currently not in use.
- Error Code
-
Shows the status of the taxing call to the third-party application. Error codes can be informational or indicate that processing was stopped.
See your third-party documentation for information about their supported list of error codes.
- Error
-
Indicates if the error code returned from the third-party application halted processing. If this value is selected, the error halted processing. If this value is not selected, the error code was informational only, but processing was completed.
- Federal Tax

Shows the amount of federal tax calculated for the parameters you specified.
- Secondary City Tax

Shows the amount of secondary tax for the specified city. Secondary taxes are taxes that are charged above and beyond the standard federal, state, and county taxes.
- Secondary County Tax

Shows the amount of secondary tax for the specified county. Secondary taxes are taxes that are charged above and beyond the standard federal, state, and county taxes.
- Secondary State Tax

Shows the amount of secondary tax for the specified state. Secondary taxes are taxes that are charged above and beyond the standard federal, state, and county taxes.
