WM Transaction Entry overview
Function acronym: WMET
Use this page to increase, decrease, or move available quantities in a Warehouse Manager bin location.
In Assignment, select Increase, Decrease, or Move to Other Bin to use this function. All adjustments immediately update WM Bin Location and Product Setup. WM Transaction Entry does not open a journal. Limit use of this function to, for example, correcting a miscount (Increase, Decrease).
We recommend that you not use this function for initial setup or for new inventory (Add to Bin); use WM Bin Location and Product Setup.
If you move or decrease more than the available quantity in a bin, it is possible for the quantity in WM Bin Location and Product Setup to temporarily show as a negative number. Bin replenishment subsequently occurs based on the WM Entry Replenish Primary Bins Report to restock the bin.
When all quantities in Open or Staging WM Bin Location and Product Setup product records go to zero, the record will be deleted. The status code on the Open bin is reset to Available if a) it is the last record attached to the WM Bin Location and Product Setup, b) the previous status code was Staging, and c) it is an Open bin.
Adjustment Types
In the Adjustment Type field, select Increase, Decrease, Move to Other Bin, Add to Bin. Product quantity can be adjusted in existing bins, typically to correct a miscount. Adjusting quantity creates a WM Bin Location and Product Setup record.
Depending upon how you have set up the options in SA Admin Options-Products-Warehouse Manager, the system checks, for example, bin location, size type, product, status, bin compatibility, or assignment to determine whether you can make the adjustment. A message is displayed if you are trying to make an adjustment contrary to Admin Option settings.
Some adjustments affect other functions, such as Product Warehouse Descriptions Setup, Product Setup, or Product Warehouse Product Setup. The opposite is also true, if a product is deleted in one of these other functions, the Warehouse Manager records are deleted. If an inactive product is removed in System Administrator Inactive Product Removal, all related Warehouse Manager records will be removed as well.
