VA Entry Journal Print Report overview

Value Add > Entry > VAE Report > VAEJ

Function acronym: VAEJ

Use this function to print an audit trail of all financial entries. You must print Value Add journals through this function. Journals do not automatically print after Shipping, Receiving, or Exception Receipts are complete.

Journals vary depending on the report parameters chosen. The most common use is to print one journal number or a range of journal numbers after all processing is complete for a day. If you are printing a journal that has not been closed or updated, this message is printed in the upper left-hand corner of the report:
Printing An Open Journal

This message is displayed if there is a system crash, power outage, or system failure. A complete audit of the journal should be made to reconstruct the journal.

If a journal posts to interdivisional accounts, the journal summary is subtotaled by division; the overall report totals are subtotaled by division as well.

Because there are several ranges available to print a journal, keep the number of ranges used down to one or two. If more are selected, the report can become complex and difficult to understand. Common combinations include:

  • Journal Number
  • Journal Number/Period #
  • Journal Number/Open Date
  • Journal Number/Shipping, Receiving, Exception/Operator
