TI Tax Calculator Administration overview

Tax Interface > Administration > Tax Calculator

Function acronym: TIATC

Use this function to calculate taxes for order amounts that are based on a specific jurisdiction.

This calculator does not update any tax values or order information in Distribution SX.e. Use this tool primarily for troubleshooting. For example, you can determine the tax on a particular order amount without creating an order in Sales Order Entry. Specify their address and the order amount, and then click Submit.

You can also specify product codes to determine the taxability of an individual product within that jurisdiction.

See the online documentation or your third-party documentation for information about product codes and how they are used to calculate taxes.

If you are integrated with AvaTax, when the function is displayed, validation checks are performed to determine if all the information is available to run AvaTax. Part of that initial validation is the running of the ping call provided by AvaTax. If the call fails, you receive an error message. If an error occurs, review the information in SA-Administration-Administrator Options-Integrations-Tax Interface Options and in SA Company Setup. If the ping call was successful, you can enter an address and an amount, for which taxes are calculated. If errors occur during this tax calculation call, those messages are displayed. If no errors occur, your setup is likely correct.
