SA Administrator Grant Authorization overview

System Administrator > Administration > Grant Authorization

Function acronym: SAA-GRANTAUTH

Use this function to grant or deny authorization to users who are attempting to perform a task that they do not have the authority to perform. You must have Grant Authority to use this function.

After you specify the requesting operator’s initials, the authorization point for which the operator requires authority is displayed. You can also leave the operator field blank to display all points requiring authorization, for which you have grant authority.

Select the authorization point for the user, and then click Grant Authorization or Deny Authorization. If you grant authorization, the user can perform the task. If you deny authorization, the function the user is in is canceled when the user tries to continue. A record is made of the attempt to perform the unauthorized action.

Depending on your security, these definitions can be modified, but modifications may be overwritten when software is updated.
