Purchase Demand Center Entry - Line Item Information - Usage Analysis overview
Use this page to review the current usage calculation method rate specified in Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering or viewed in Product Administration Usage Rate Update Entry. You can use this view to see, for example, what the usage rate and ordering controls would look like if you changed the calculation method.
The Methods grid displays information about order and line point, ordered quantity, safety allowance, usage, and usage rate.
Select additional calculation methods from the list. Click Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering.
. The methods are added to the grid. Select a method from the grid. Click . An asterisk appears in the Selected column. If you want to retain this new method, click to update the ordering controls inAn asterisk (*) appears in the Selected field. You can view the new method in Product Administrator Usage Rate Update in the New Method field. Click to update the Product Warehouse Product SetupMethod values.
Usage
From the More... menu, select
to view the historical product warehouse usage of this product for the past 25 months. Usage is defined as the rate of anticipated usage [sales and transfers out] for a stocked item in the period just ahead, expressed as "x" units per month. Usage rates form the basis for replenishment control calculations, which in turn generate the service and inventory turnover results.If you know the historical usage for a product, set it up during the initial warehouse product setup. If you do not know the historical usage for the product, the system uses the recorded history and builds usage information each month when you process Product Administration Month End Processing Report.
Drill down on a line to access editable fields, such as Override Usg. Click to modify these fields. Click to update the Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering record.
Click Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering and run the Product Administrator Month End Processing Report. This saves you the effort of running the month end process manually after changing usage amounts on this view: Override Usg, Days, #Times, Avg Inv.
