PI Administrator Clear Active Update overview
Function acronym: PIAFC
Use this report to remove any active update records from your system.
Active update records are those products that have not updated the Product entity records. During the update process, records having an update code of āUā, and an effective date less than or equal to the current date, are inactivated. Records with an Ignore status are also inactivated.
Records placed on Hold are considered active, and are eligible to be cleared using this function. Records set to Update, with an effective date beyond the current date, or with no effective date, are considered active. They are eligible to be cleared using this function.
This function is helpful if you want to remove an update [edit] file after importing, and start the process over again. For example, when you import a partial file. As records are removed, a count is displayed indicating the number of records processed. The report lists any header records that are removed, and provides a total.
Do not use PI Administrator Clear Active Update as a standard method of editing your import files. Instead, use PI Entry Edit Product Update File. Select records to delete or ignore, instead of updating partial files and removing remaining records. An audit report is available for the edit function PI Entry Report From Update File Whereas, no audit is provided with PI Administrator Clear Active Update.
PI Administrator report functions (PIA Reports) should be performed by a designated System Administrator. Most functions should not be performed without first completing the prerequisite setup procedures. We recommend that you use your test company until you are completely familiar with these functions. Updating functions in your test company does not adversely affect your permanent files, with the exception of PI Import Definition Setup records. PI Import Definition Setup records are not specific to one company; any changes made to these records are viewed in all companies.
