PD Mass Maintenance Entry overview

Pricing and Discounting > Entry > Mass Maintenance

Function acronym: PDEM

Use this function to create and update customer pricing records and rebate records by using pricing sets.

You can click Create to create a pricing set using the maintenance wizard. After the record set is created, you can manipulate the data in the record set in the grid. Vendor on Sale rebate pricing sets created in EDI Entry Processing Contract Pricing Report can also be processed.

Price and discount records can be imported from Excel by clicking Import Excel with New Records.

Use the criteria search to group or select records from a pricing set and make changes on the PD Mass Maintenance Entry - Criteria Search page.

If you use this functionality to update a record in a pricing set, you can delete the record from the set to prevent overriding the new value when you process the record set.

If you encounter time-out errors when you load a selected set or when you select Import Excel to load pricing records from an Excel file, you can enable batch call processing for the service interface calls that are used by this function. When you select Use Advanced Polling Interface Logic for Designated Service Interface Calls in SA Administrator Options-System-General, you can select these service interface calls from the Available Advanced Polling Calls list:

  • PDEM Import From Excel to Set (Type 1, 5, 7) - pdemexcelimportupdtpdsc1
  • PDEM Import From Excel to Set (Type 2) - pdemexcelimportundtpdsc2

With these service interface calls selected, a batch process is initiated that runs outside of the normal Service Interface calls which must complete within a system timeout limitation of 1 minute. Batch call processing allows the load or import process to complete without timeout errors.

The pricing information in Product Import can also be maintained, although Product Import performs the data import and updates.

Rebates due from foreign currency vendors are processed and displayed in the vendor's foreign currency.
