PD Administrator Future Price/Costs Report overview

Pricing and Discounting > Administration > PDA Reports > PDAPF

Function acronym: PDAPF

Use this report to update prices and costs on Product Warehouse Product Setup records, based on values from PD Future Price/Cost Change Setup records.

The data from PD Future Price/Cost Change Setup records creates a batch file that is used to change these values on Product Warehouse Product Setup records:

  • Base price
  • List price
  • Price type
  • Replacement cost
  • Standard cost
  • Foreign replacement cost

The Product Warehouse Product Setup records that are updated are based on the date in the Implement All Changes Through option and the effective date in PD Future Price/Cost Change Setup. The updates that do not occur remain in the batch file to be processed at a later date. The date that you run this report updates the last price change value on the product warehouse records.

Journal

A journal is opened if these conditions are met:

  • Standard or Replacement is selected in the Post to G/L By field in SA Administrator Options-Products-Costs.
  • The records in PD Future Price/Cost Change Setup exist for the same company.
  • The Allow Changing of GL/SM Costs is selected on your SA Operator Setup record.

Because the journal is opened before the records are processed, it might not contain postings. The journal is automatically closed when the report processing is complete. If the GL posting cost is modified while there are on hand, reserved, or unavailable quantities, an entry is made to reevaluate inventory. If a product is a special costing product, the special price costing information is applied.

Note: Changes to foreign replacement costs do not affect the General Ledger.

If an error prevents you from opening a journal, Product Warehouse Product Setup records are not updated, even when no journal is required.
