Sales Manufacturer Commission Setup overview

Use Sales Manufacturer Commission Setup to set up the commission rates earned on orders placed with the manufacturer vendor.
These rates are used in Sales Order Entry on Manufacturer Rep orders to determine the amount of earned commission for your company. Commission rate records can be created for multiple levels at which commission can be applied. These include by vendor, warehouse, customer, customer sales territory, product, catalog, product line, or product category.
As commission records are created, a record number is assigned. This record number is created incrementally, based on the last record created. These unique record numbers are displayed in Sales Order Inquiry for Manufacturer Rep sales orders and are linked to the Sales Manufacturer Commission Setup record. After you create a commission record, the record number can be used to search for the record in the Search panel.
When you create a Manufacturer Rep order in Sales Order Entry, a hierarchy is applied to determine the Sales Manufacturer Commission Setup record that qualifies. This hierarchy selects records set up first by product, then by product catalog, product line, product category, customer, and finally, by customer sales territory. When a commission record matches the product on the sales order line, then records are searched to find a matching vendor, product catalog, or warehouse. When a matching record is found for a product and product type, then records are searched to find a matching customer or customer sales territory.
Your selection for the warehouse, product, customer, or sales territory type enables access to additional fields to specify record details pertaining to that commission record type.
