Sales Order Fulfillment Setup - Preferred Warehouse List overview

Use this page to create and maintain preferred warehouse lists that correspond to the Preferred Warehouse List rule on the Fulfillment Rules page. To create Preferred Warehouse List records, the Preferred Warehouse List rule must be included in the hierarchy.

The Preferred Warehouse List records are based on a banner warehouse. You can create these types of Preferred Warehouse List records for each banner warehouse:

  • Sourcing Warehouse
  • Region
  • Warehouse Group

Sourcing Warehouse records take priority over the Region and Warehouse Group records. When you create a fulfillment order, the warehouses on Sourcing Warehouse records are considered for sourcing first. The priority of each record is displayed in the Preferred Warehouse List grid.

Create Region records for regions that do not include the banner warehouse. Use the Group By Region rule at the company level to select warehouses that are in the same region as the banner warehouse.

Preferred Warehouse List records are not required. The banner warehouse on the fulfillment order is always included in the Warehouse List. The Authorized Replenishment Path (ARP) is also considered as the sourcing warehouse if these conditions are met:

  • A Preferred Warehouse List was not created for the banner warehouse
  • Group By Region is not included in the company hierarchy

If the ARP is a warehouse, that warehouse is used to create the tied fulfillment order. Optionally, you can use the Add Warehouse To List function to add a warehouse to the Warehouse List on a fulfillment order.

The warehouses that are available in the Banner Warehouse field and in the Add To List section are based on Product Warehouse Description Setup records. You cannot select these types of warehouses:

  • Alternate warehouses
  • Storeroom warehouses
  • Warehouses that do not allow sales

Available warehouse groups are based on SA Table Code Value Setup records. Available regions are based on the region specified on Product Warehouse Description Setup records.
