Product Certification/License Setup overview

Product > Setup > Certification/License

Function acronym: ICSPRC

Use this function to create and maintain certification and license records.

These records are attached to Customer Setup or Customer Ship To Setup records. They indicate that a customer or shipto has a certificate or license required by a government entity to purchase or work with a restricted product. Certificates and licenses are often required to handle products or substances that are considered hazardous by agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency. Selling a restricted product to a customer that is not certified or licensed may result in penalties for both you and your customer.

If you sell a restricted product that requires a certificate or license, the information is stored on the sales order line. You can export this information to a spreadsheet and provide it to government entities. Because Product Certification/License Setup does not retain the history of a record, the sales order line information can also be used to provide the historical data.

Each certificate or license record must contain a product restriction code, which is set up in SA Table Code Value Setup. The restriction code associates the certificate and license records with the Product Restriction Setup records. When restricted products are specified on a sales orders, a certificate/license search for the customer or shipto is performed based on the product restriction code.

To add or change records, you must have a security level of 4 on your SA Operator Setup record. To also delete records, you must have a security level of 5. You cannot delete a certificate or license record that is active or is included on an active, non-expired Product Restriction Setup record.

Use the Notes context widget to add a note to a Product Certification/License Setup record.

The settings in the User Fields section are set up in SA Administrator Options-System-User Fields. Select Product Restrictions Certificate/License from the list.
