Product Setup - Cut overview
Use this page to specify dimensions for creating cut lengths for a cut product, or to define a cut container.
Product Setup-Cut view enables you to define:
- How dimensions are entered from the RF unit. These definitions dynamically build the Cut Length section of the IBC RF Cut Allocation Entry screen.
- Dimensions of configurable products that are ordered through the integration with Infor CPQ Enterprise Configurator.
- Dimensions of linear cut products sold in Sales Order Entry.
- Linear cut containers, such as spools or boxes. The dimensions determine the Container Factor that is used to calculate the Container Capacity.
The Cut view is flexible and can accommodate international and local units of measure.
For each cut product, you can set up either a linear cut, length only, or a dimensional cut, length and width.
When you define a cut you specify whether the:
- Cut is a 1 Part or 2 Part entry. You can: a) define a single UOM, such as inches or a multiple, such as inches and feet
- Cutting measurement is expressed as an integer, a decimal, or a fraction for dimensional cuts
These units work and calculate in conjunction with the product's stocking unit, set in Product Setup.
When you define a cut container, you define the:
- Container type
- Dimensions of the container
Note: The dimensions of the cut container that are defined on the
Cut view are not the same as the dimensions
you defined for the container product on the Product Setup-General
view. The dimensions on the Cut view are used
to determine the capacity of the container in order to recommend the best container when
the cut product is entered on a sales order. The dimensions on the General view are used to determine storage requirements
for the container in your warehouse.
