Product Line Setup - Order overview
Use this function to establish defaults at the product-line level that apply at the product level. This saves time and keeps your product records consistent.
The defaults set up here automatically populate fields when associated product records are created in Product Warehouse Product Setup.
By establishing product-line defaults, pre-populated fields cannot be modified when product records are created or modified unless user security is set to allow it. This applies to Product Warehouse Product Setup - Ordering, Product Warehouse Product Setup - Costs, and Product Maintain Balance Entry.
If you are using catalog products, a product line is assigned when each product is set up. If you convert the catalog product into a stock product, this default information is carried along and updated to the newly created Product Warehouse Product Setup record.
