Use this report to track hazardous products, which require an MSDS to be made available to employees and customers

Hazardous designations are made by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and its worldwide counterparts. The designation is often required on shipping and export documents. Employers and vendors are responsible for providing an Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to their employees and customers. The MSDS is the primary tool for communicating the health hazards, safe handling methods, and emergency procedures for each hazardous material. Anytime the formulation of a hazardous product is changed, manufacturers are required to submit a revised MSDS. You must update your MSDS information also.

If you are distributing MSDS-affected products, there are several points for tracking, managing, and processing. Use a combination of these reports and functions to track hazardous products, which require an MSDS to be made available to employees and customers:

  • Product Setup
  • Product Hazardous Information Setup
  • SM Extended Totals Hazardous Report
  • Product Hazardous Materials (MSDS)

To include MSDS information on this report:

  • In SA Admin Options-Product-Defaults, set the MSDS Print option toPicking.
  • In the Product Hazardous Materials (MSDS) Report, specify S for the Print (S)ent, (T)o Be Sent, or (B)oth option. If you specify T for this option, no records are selected.

To print mailing labels:

  • Set the Print Mailing Labels option to Yes.
  • Complete all of the options that pertain to labels and label format.
  • Set the MSDS Print option in SA Administrator Options-Product-Defaults to Mail Later.
  • Set the Print (S)ent, (T)o Be Sent, or (B)oth option to T or B.
  • Specify a printer in the Printer Name to Send Labels To option.
