Product Entry Physical Count Report overview

Product > Entry > ICE Reports > ICEPP

Function acronym: ICEPP

Use this report to start printing count sheets in bin location order. The bin location for unavailable product is Un/av/ail/abl, so unavailable products appear together. When several products have the same bin location, the products are sorted in product order.

Physical control is one of the major foundations for an effective inventory control system. It represents the accuracy between quantities in the warehouse compared to the quantities stored in Product Warehouse Product Setup. It also impacts your ability to find products when you need them. Periodically perform a physical count of your entire warehouse; the frequency of physical counts depends on the following:

  • Audit requirements
  • Theft concerns
  • Insurance conditions

Product selection is controlled by the ranges shown on the report, the maximum number of products to count, and the last count date. All items that have the Count Required field selected in Product Warehouse Product Setup - General are included if the Include Must Count Items option is Yes.

The Bin Locations and Products record, which does not contain an On Hand quantity, is not automatically deleted when you specify a zero quantity in Product Count Entry. Generate the WM Audit Report to delete open bins before you generate Product Entry Cycle Count Report or Product Entry Physical Count Report.

The Standard Range Method options on Product Warehouse Descriptions Setup - Count correspond to the ranges available for this report. The range you select when you run the Product Entry Physical Count Report should correspond to the range selected in Product Warehouse Description Setup to expedite the record extraction for this report. If you do not select a range for the Product Entry Physical Count Report, the Product Warehouse Description Setup Standard Range Method is not used.

See Physical counting and unavailable inventory.

If you have warehouses in a foreign country, then you may need product descriptions in inventory count reports to be printed in alternate languages for certain warehouses where the employees do not speak the language specified for the Company. These employees are not able to check the products in the warehouse against the reports when they cannot read the product description. This leads to incorrect physical inventory counts.

You can specify the language in which you want to print the product descriptions in the Language field in Product Warehouse Description Setup-General. Then select whether to print the product descriptions in the language defined for your company or the warehouse in the Physical Count Language field on the Count view.

Note: The product descriptions are printed in the warehouse language only when the language that you select in the Language field in Product Warehouse Description Setup-General has matching product descriptions available on the Multiple Language Setup window in Product Setup-General. Otherwise, the product descriptions set up in Product Setup are printed.

Cores

Any count adjustments that you make adjust the internal core master (ICEAM) and transaction (ICEAT) records. General Ledger adjustments are made when you adjust a remanufactured product, and corresponding changes are made to the implied core charge that is associated with it. The implied core charge is represented by a labor product record, and the General Ledger journal records a “cost times quantity” posting when adjustments are made to remanufactured core products.
