Product Count Entry overview
Function acronym: ICEPE
Use this function to enter adjustments for discrepancies found by a cycle count or a physical count. You can enter adjustments for each warehouse and run number.Generally, you must use this function if you run the Product Entry Count Quantity Recalculation Report after making count adjustments.
On this page you can perform these actions:
- Add products to the count sheets. This may occur when you are truly counting shelf to sheet. You can enter the quantity counted, review it, make changes, assign serial and lot numbers, or select another run number.
- Set a ticket to not count.
- Update bin locations. Click the right arrow to open the Quick Bin Details page for the count ticket. The bin locations that you specify on a count ticket update Product Warehouse Product Setup and Product Additional Bin Location Setup records after you run the Product Entry Count Update Report.
When you add a product to an existing run, labor products cannot be entered. If you attempt to add a labor product, this message is displayed: Labor Product Not Allowed (5628)
If you discover nonstock products during your count, process them in one of these ways:
- Add them to inventory by creating Product Setup and Product Warehouse Product Setup records
- Check Sales Order Inquiry to see if they should be used to fill an open order
- Return them to the vendor on a Return Merchandise (RM) purchase order
To perform a blind count, you can hide the expected quantity. Blind counts provide added security and reduce the chance of counting errors, but require additional data to be entered. If you show the expected quantity, you may enter the counted quantity only on exceptions instead of each individual line.
If more than one operator attempts to maintain the same ticket from a single run, an error message is displayed. Keep the runs short enough for a single operator. Break up your large runs into several small runs to prevent record locking errors.
If you specify zero (0) as the quantity when recording the inventory count in Product Count Entry, this message is displayed: Warning: Quantity Counted is Zero.
The message is informational only, and does not interrupt the count entry process. If you specified 0 in error, you can stop and correct the entry. Otherwise, your cursor is moved to the next line in the grid. You can continue recording count quantities.
