GL Entry Distribute Automatically Report overview
Function acronym: GLED
Use this function to distribute the transactions created in GL Automatic Distribution Setup. The account code period balances and distribution transactions are updated in GL Transaction Entry.
A journal is opened to record the distribution transactions. You can print the journal in GL Entry Journal Print Report.
Automatic distribution are used to perform allocations and reversals of balances based on specific percentages. It is common to have automatic distributions that distribute expenses or income for the period to different departments. Perform distributions before producing financial statements. Journals are created when automatic distribution are posted. Print and inspect these journals before you continue, and make any necessary corrections in GL Transaction Entry. This function posts for the entire period specified on the report Options window. If you run GL Entry Distribute Automatically Report more than once per period, the amounts posted to the account codes are duplicated. You should run this function at the end of a period. If you must post a prior-period distribution in a period for which GL Entry Distribute Automatically Report has already been performed, you should manually post the distribution in GL Transaction Entry to avoid duplication.
If the Proof Debit and Proof Credit fields do not match for an Offsetting distribution or if they do not equal 100% for a Reversal distribution, GL Entry Distribute Automatically Report displays an error message and stops all processing. If an error is found in any part of the distribution, the entire distribution stops.
