System Administrator > Administration > Administrator Options > Financials > Period Structure

Use this page to define information for the period.

Use this page to define these parameters:

Default posting period
First and last valid posting periods
Number of periods forward or backward from the current period in which transactions can be posted

You can also limit users to posting in the current period only. You can have the system track balancing history each time a stored balancing report is run so you can inquire on the balancing report.
