VA Product Default Setup - Sections - Add Section field descriptions

Section Description

Specify a description for the section being added.

Sequence Number

Displays the sequence number for the section.

Type

Select the type of section being added. Section types, their two-character codes, and descriptions are listed in this table:

Section Type	Code	Description
Specification	SP	Section type for fabricating the item or including special instructions to facilitate the downstream tasks. You can print the instructions and include them on the VA order for external, internal, or both types of fabrication processes.
External Process	EX	Section type for when an outside service provider fabricates the components into a finished product. You can send the components to a single service provider or many service providers for processing.
Internal Process	IT	Section type for the internal service department (warehouse) where processing is performed.
Inventory Components	IN	Section type for the list of components needed to build the finished product. You can send components to an external service provider or to an internal fabrication department.
Inventory In	II	Section type for bringing components back into inventory when they are not used in the fabrication process (surplus). Receiving a purchase order that is tied to a VA order from an external service provider or internal fabrication department prompts for the creation of an inventory in (ii) section.
Inspection	IS	Section type for sending the product, either finished or intermediate, for inspection.
