Sales Order Entry - Select Products overview

Use this page to enter line items on the sales order.

When you first access Select Products, the default line entry mode that you selected on the Order Entry Defaults page is displayed. You can select other modes from the Line Entry menu, such as Easy, Advanced, Quick, Shopping List, and Return Multiple.

All line entry modes in Sales Order Entry are always available, with these exceptions:

  • On Correction orders, only the Advanced and Return Multiple modes are available.
  • On Direct Orders,only the Advanced mode is available.

After you add lines to an order, the products are displayed in the Products panel. To edit a line item, click Edit Lines in the Products panel and then select a line item to edit. The line item opens in Advanced Line Entry mode. Alternatively, click the product in the Products panel to open the line for editing.

Note: If the order contains more than 25 lines, click Show More in the Products panel to view the additional lines.

If you change these values on a line item that is associated with a purchase order, the price is updated on the direct order purchase order:

  • Product
  • Price
  • Cost
  • Unit
  • Quantity

Delayed Reservation

The reservation of inventory for an order is delayed when the Delayed/Reserved check box is selected on this screen. The Delayed/Reserved check box is selected by default if an order is placed with the Promise Date after the Leeway Days time period. As a result, the inventory is not allocated to the order line. If the promise date is within the leeway days time period, the Delayed/Reserved check box is cleared by running the IC Batch Reservation Report and the inventory is reserved.

Note: The promise date can be defined or modified on the Customer Order Settings screen.
