Sales Freight Zone Setup field descriptions

Fields are presented in alphabetical order.

Beginning Zip Code

The beginning postal code used to define zone parameters.

Note:  If a postal code is used in more than one zone, the system uses the first record found when it calculates freight.

Ending Zip Code

The ending postal code used to define zone parameters.

Note:  If a postal code is used in more than one zone, the system uses the first record found when it calculates freight.

Ship Via

The method used for shipping orders, such as FedEx or UPS.

Warehouse

The warehouse if the zone is warehouse-specific.

Alternate Ship Via

You can either enter the freight zone records manually or import from an Excel spreadsheet. You must set up Sales Freight Rate Setup records prior to setting up associated Sales Freight Zone Setup records. You can set up Sales Freight Zone Setup records for a specific warehouse, or, for all warehouses if the Warehouse field is left blank.

Sales Freight Zone Setup records are only used if you select the option Validate Against Zip Code field in the Sales Freight Rate Setup screen.

All Zip Codes

If you select this option, then this warehouse and ship via is valid for all the zip codes. This field is displayed only when the Alternate Ship Via option in SA Administrator Options-Documents-Sales Orders-Entry Settings screen is enabled. By default, this check box is clear.

If you select this check box, then the Begins With field and both the Beginning Zip Code and Ending Zip Code fields are hidden and populated with the word ALL, which is displayed on screens and reports that show the beginning and ending zip code values.

Begins with

If you select this option, then this warehouse and ship via is valid for all the matching zip codes that start with the value in the Beginning Zip Code field. This field is displayed only when the Alternate Ship Via option in SA Administrator Options-Documents-Sales Orders-Entry Settings screen is enabled. By default, this check box is clear.

If you select this check box, then the All Zip Codes and the Ending Zip Code fields are hidden. The Ending Zip Code field is populated with the same value that you specify in the Beginning Zip Code field. This value is displayed in screens which show the beginning and ending zip code values.

When neither All Zip Codes nor Begins With option is selected, a single zip code or a zip code range must be specified in the Beginning Zip Code and Ending Zip Code fields.

Zone

The zone designator that was created in Sales Freight Rate Setup. This field is optional. For validation against an order’s shipping zip code, the value in the Zone field must be same for both the Sales Freight Rate Setup and the Sales Freight Zone Setup records.
