SA Printer Setup - Settings field descriptions
Fields are presented in alphabetical order within each section.
Settings
- Initialization, Close, Compressed, Normal
-
The values in these fields contain strings of decimal codes used by the system for the proper utilization of the printer or device. You must obtain the decimal strings from the individual device’s operating manuals. All strings may not be required. The most common strings are for compressed print and normal print.
Note: If you are setting up a cash drawer and there is the need to open an attached cash drawer, the only valid compression string is 007 007 on the initialize string.Contact your Infor Support representative for assistance in determining the values for these fields.
Label Format
- Alternate Size Printer
-
Specify an alternate printer that print labels that are the opposite size of the printer that you are setting up. For example, if you selected small labels for the printer that you are setting up, your alternate printer should print large labels.
Because you can only select one printer when printing labels, specifying an alternate size printer ensures that each customer label is printed on the correct size label. For example, if you select a printer that prints large labels when you generate an IB Pick Labels Report, any customer labels within the report that should be printed on a small label are sent to the alternate printer.
- Document Type
-
Specify the name of the document type under which the barcode label templates for Integrated Barcode and cartonization are stored in Infor Document Management. The default value is SX_Label_Templates. It is the document type under which the default label templates are stored when you first import the templates into IDM.
If you customized the label templates, specify SX_Custom_Label_Templates or another document type under which you saved the custom label templates. You must specify the value from the Name field on the document type record in IDM. Do not specify the value from the Display Name field.
Note: If you generate both default and custom labels on the printer, then save the default templates that you are using under the same document type as the custom labels. This field is only available if you select IDM Labels.
- IDM Labels
-
Select this option to print labels using Infor Document Management. Only printers that are set up to use the IDM Enterprise Printing Service can output labels using IDM.
See Barcode Label Formats and Cartonization: IDM Labels.
Note: Printing labels using Infor Document Management is supported in CloudSuite Distribution only. - Label Size
-
Indicate whether the printer prints small or large labels. Large Labels is the default setting, even if the printer does not print labels.
- Maximum Labels per Print Job
-
Enterprise Printing Platform prints 999,999 labels in one session. If your printer can only print a portion of the total number of labels in one session, specify that number. For example, if you need a total of 500 labels but you can only print 125 labels in one session, specify 125 in this field.
- Site
-
Specify a site that is set up in Enterprise Printing Platform, When a ULD format file is created for a label, the printer is set as site#printer, instead of printer. You can specify defaultSite, which is a standard site in Enterprise Printing Platform.

You can overwrite the standard template with a custom label template that you created in IDM using the Word Add-in Tool.
