Configuring Report Scheduler

When you configure Report Scheduler, you must set certain defaults that control the timing interval for processing print jobs and the maximum number of simultaneous jobs.

  1. Select System Administrator >  Administration > Administrator Options > System > Report Scheduler.
  2. Specify these values:
    • Maximum Simultaneous Jobs

Specify a number, from 0 to 999, to define the maximum number of simultaneous jobs that can be run for each hour of the 24-hour day. This number represents the total simultaneous print processes that can be run under the control of Report Scheduler during any specific hour.

    • Interval

Select the number of seconds that Report Scheduler should wait before checking for another print job. Valid values are 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, and 60 seconds. When Report Scheduler reaches the defined polling interval, the process wakes and checks for scheduled jobs to run. The interval you specify does not affect on-demand jobs. On-demand jobs are processed immediately regardless of the interval you specify.

    • Timeout

Specify the amount of time a read-only report can monopolize system resources. Read-only reports are those reports that read data to obtain the report output and do no updating. For example, the Customer Master List Report is a read-only report. Product Administration Month End Processing updates data and is not be affected by this setting. We recommend you leave the default of zero unless you have specific system limitations that require control of server resources.

    • Password

The system administrator can change the default password if necessary. When you specify a password, the characters you type are masked with asterisks (*). The Login and Password fields are used during Report Scheduler startup to validate whether Report Scheduler is already running. If Report Scheduler is running, Report Scheduler cannot be started again. Only one instance of Report Scheduler can run at a time.

  3. Click Save.
  4. Set up stored report schedule types in SA Table Code Value Setup.
