Archiving and purging data

There are several benefits of archiving data in your Distribution SX.e database. Improving system performance is one of the most important. Your system runs more efficiently when old data is removed. When your database tables are re-indexed and re-loaded, operators can expect to see fewer delays in accessing data. System backups require less time and space.

All archive report output is created with the date appended to the file name.

For example, an archive report run on 1 April 2019 is named archive.190401.dsx. This ensures that uniquely-named files are created each time an archive report is run. The RDCLEAN utility automatically removes archive files with a date more than 25 days before the current date.

  1. Select System Administrator > Data Archive Purge > SAD Reports.
  2. Select the desired archive and purge report.
  3. Select New > One Time.
  4. Specify the necessary information for the report and click Save.
