Events

An event indicates that something has happened in the system that is not part of normal day to day procedures. Events, which are created by Infor programmers, are tied to triggers in the system source code. The system contains more than 100 events. Each event is attached to one trigger. Use SA Event Manager Activate Entry to specify additional parameters for what is required to trigger the event.

When the criteria that you specify is met during system processing, the event occurs and notification is sent to the appropriate people specified for that event. For example, you can activate an event to notify the credit manager when a sales order is placed on hold. Use SA Event Mgr Activate Entry to specify the credit manager for the customer so when the sales order is placed on hold, the event is triggered.
