Customizing a business rule template

To set up business rules to use during electronic processing, use SA Table Code Value Setup-Business Rules to perform these tasks:

Review business rule templates
Define how the templates will be used to create business rules in SA Business Rule Setup

Then, create each rule in SA Business Rule Setup for your specific needs.

Use these instructions to define how to use the business rule templates to create your own business rules. You can use the templates as-is, modify the templates to meet your needs, or create additional templates. Any templates that you create must have the underlying business rule code in place.

Note: You must activate business rules in SA Business Rule Setup. Changes made to a business rule template do not apply to existing business rules. The changes only apply to the business rules that are created after the template is changed.

Select System Administrator > Setup > Table Code Value.
Select Business Rules in the Table List field.
Open a template record.
For each element in the template, select the check box to allow that element to be updated in SA Business Rule Setup. Keep the check box clear to keep it locked or prevent any changes.

If you customize an audit business rule, we recommend that you do not select any of the template elements. This limits changes in SA Business Rule Setup to the Rule Value and the Level only.
Select the levels allowed.

Customer and Ship To are not applicable to PO Acknowledgments processing in ETCC.
In the Categories section, specify the user-defined category that is used to organize business rules. After a category is established, you can use the Category field in SA Business Rule Setup to display only those business rules assigned to that category.

You can assign multiple categories by separating them with a comma.
We recommend you do not make any changes to the text in the Extended Description section. The text can be overwritten by updates made in a subsequent Distribution SX.e release or patch. Make additional notes or instructions to the Extended Description text for each business rule in SA Business Rule Setup.
Click Save.
