Setting up freight rates for freight rate shopping

Use these instructions to set up freight rates for Freight Rate Shopping.

  1. Select Sales > Setup > Freight Rates.
  2. Click New.
  3. Optionally, specify a warehouse.
  4. Specify a ship via.
  5. Optionally, specify a zone designator.
  6. In the Over Maximum Rate field specify the amount per pound that is used to calculate freight when the weight exceeds the maximum weight entered in the Maintain Freight Rates grid.
  7. In the Maintain Freight Rates grid, specify weight limits and the associated freight rate.

    You can specify up to 500 freight rates by weight limit. The weight limit entries represent maximum limits and each subsequent entry’s range starts with the previous maximum limit entry. For example, if the weight limit entered for sequence 1 is 50, then all shipments up to 50 lbs are assigned sequence 1 freight rate. If the weight limit entered for sequence 2 is 100, then all shipments between 50 and up to 100 pounds are assigned the freight rate for sequence 2. The system validates that each subsequent weight limit is larger than the previous entry. A zero weight entry identifies the end of the table.

  8. Click Save.
