Future price and cost updates
Generating the PD Administrator Future Price/Costs Report on or after the effective date of a product’s price and cost change initiates the updates contained in the PD Future Price/Cost Change Setup batch file. You can set up a batch file months in advance and update inventory records with a single batch process. The Product Warehouse Product Setup price and cost fields, and as the date recorded for the last change made to standard and replacement cost, are updated according to the batch file.
If a change to inventory valuation is made, a journal opens to post the changes to the General Ledger. Updates to standard or replacement cost are not made if these conditions are met:
- Yes is selected in the Allow Changing of GL Costs field in SA Operator Setup-Controls
- Standard or Replacement is selected in the Post to G/L By field in SA Administrator Options-Products-Costs
The PD Administrator Future Price/Costs Report provides a report that serves as an audit trail of the prices and costs that were changed.
API call requests for future prices
If you use these API calls to receive requests for and to return pricing data to integrated applications, you can include future prices set up with an Effective Date in PD Future Price/Cost Change Setup:
- sxapiOEPricing
- sxapiOEPricingMultiple

value in the Extra Data
List input parameter. The future date is used to return future prices if these
business rules are activated:

- AllowFuturePriceCost
- AllowFuturePriceCostSeq
Future price API requests cannot be made for these records:
- Rebate prices
- Nonstock products
