Pricing for prebuilt kits with rebated components
Rebates for components can be included in the price calculation for prebuilt kits when you sell the kit or perform a price inquiry. To apply this pricing logic, these conditions must be met:
- The price record for the prebuilt kit must be for a specific customer or ship to.
- The price record for the prebuilt kit must be based on Rebated Margin or Rebated Cost.
- The rebates for the components must be Vendor on Sale rebates.
If the rebate for a component is based on Actual Cost, the cost that is used in rebate calculation is based on the Sales Manager cost in SA Administrator Options-Products-Costs. Addons costs are added to the SM cost if Include Addons is selected in SA Administrator Options-Products-Costs.
If you override the price of a prebuilt kit in Sales Order Entry, the price for the line item includes rebates for components. The margin amount or percentage is updated.
If you select Reprice when you copy a sales order, the price for prebuilt kit is recalculated, based on current price and rebate records. If you do not select Reprice, the price from the original order is copied to the new order.
Feature activation
To activate this feature, Roll Rebated Price on Prebuilt Kits in SA Administrator-Documents-Sales Orders-Processing must be selected. To view the data that was used to determine the price of the prebuilt kit, Include must be selected in the Include Rebate in Cost/Margin Displays field on your operator record.
The pricing logic is applied in functions, such as Sales Order Entry and Sales Customer Pricing Inquiry. The pricing logic is also applied during EDI, BOD, and API processes.
