Warehouse Lists
The Warehouse List is built and the sourcing warehouses are selected after you add a line item to a fulfillment order. If you change any the product, unit, or quantity an existing line, the Warehouse List is rebuilt and the sourcing warehouses are again selected.
If you have the security to override fulfillment order settings, you can change the selected warehouses and add warehouses to the list. You can also change the fulfillment rule on the order which can change the warehouses that are selected for sourcing.
Short Quantities
The Quantity Short option is displayed on the Line Fulfillment and Sales Order Entry - Sales Order Fulfillment windows. If this option is selected, none of the warehouses in the Warehouse List have enough product available to fill the line. If a short quantity occurs, you can add warehouse to the Warehouse List.
You can add a warehouse with sufficient net available quantities to the list in the Sales Order Entry - Sales Order Fulfillment window. Select the warehouse you added to create a tied order for that warehouse when you submit the fulfillment order.
Optionally, you can manually tie an order to the line item to source the product. You can manually tie a purchase order or warehouse transfer from the Edit Lines window. You can also tie Value Add and Kit Production work orders in Advanced Line Entry. The source documents are tied to the tied fulfillment order that is created for the warehouse on the original fulfillment order.
If you use a purchase order, warehouse transfer, or Kit Production work order to source a line item, the source document is created when the fulfillment order is submitted. If you use a Value Add work order to source the line item, the source document is created immediately. Because Value Add work orders are created immediately, we recommend that you promptly submit the original fulfillment order. Otherwise, the work could be completed before the source document is tied to the tied fulfillment order.
You are not required to resolve short quantities before you submit the fulfillment order. Because the tied fulfillment orders are stock orders, they are filled through the back order fill process.
Nonstocks
In the Warehouse List, a product can be a stock product in one warehouse and a nonstock in another warehouse.
If a nonstock is included in the Warehouse List, the price and cost is zero unless pricing records are set up for the nonstock. You can select Load the nonstock price/cost from the fulfillment line when you submit the fulfillment order. The price and cost of the product on the fulfillment order, where the product is not a nonstock, is then used on the tied fulfillment order.
