Selling substitute or upgrade products

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Create or maintain a stock order.
  3. Specify a product and quantity.
  4. If the product has a substitute or upgrade cross-reference record, click Yes to view the cross-reference products.

    If the Sell Substituted First setting on the cross-reference record has a value, you might be required to sell the substituted product before you can sell the substitute product.

  5. Select a product, and then click Submit.
  6. Click Add.
  7. If you depleted the available inventory for the superseded product but still require product to meet the quantity ordered, add another line item for the supersede product.
  8. Finish the order.
