Attaching a manual rebate to a line item

Manual rebates are Vendor on Sale rebates for a specific contract or contract line number. Manual rebates are not included in the standard rebate logic. You must attach manual rebates at the line item level in Sales Order Entry. You can search for an existing manual rebate or create a manual rebate to attach to the line item.

When you search for existing manual rebates, only active PD Pricing Setup records are displayed. You can increase your search results by clearing the Level, Ship To/Job, Warehouse, and Rebate Region values. Even if the Ship To/Job, Warehouse, and Rebate Region values are specified on the order, you can attach a manual rebate record that contains a blank value for those fields.

If you specify a rebate region in the search criteria, manual rebates that meet these criteria are displayed:

  • Manual rebate records with the same rebate region
  • Manual rebates with a warehouse that is assigned to the rebate region
  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Create or maintain an order, and then click Next.
  3. In Advanced Line Entry mode, specify the product and the price.
  4. Click Manual Rebate.
  5. To attach an existing manual rebate:
    1. Specify search criteria, and then click Search.
    2. Select the manual rebate in the Results grid, and then click Attach.
  6. To create a new rebate:
    1. Specify the new rebate information in the Search section.
    2. Click Create.
    3. Complete the record, and then click Submit.
      Note: If the Create Opposite Shipment Type in OEET option is selected in SA Administrator Options-Products-Rebates, a manual rebate record for the opposite shipment type is created after you save the rebate record.
    4. Select the manual rebate in the Results grid, and then click Attach.
  7. Click Add to add the line to the order.
  8. Finish the order.
