Maintaining a linear cut record

You can use Sales Linear Cut Maintenance Entry to perform these tasks to maintain a linear cut record on a lot product:

  • Split a single cut into two cuts
  • Update the length available in a lot
  • Convert to scrap any lengths that cannot be cut or sold
  • Move one or more cut pieces to another lot in the same warehouse

Use these steps to update existing linear cut records:

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Linear Cut Maintenance.
  2. Click Update in the toolbar.
  3. Specify search criteria, then click Search.
Note: TWL and Storeroom warehouses are excluded in search results.
  4. Drill down into one of the cut records.
  5. Select a cut piece from the grid and click one of these options:
    Split
Select a cut piece from the grid and click Split to enter a new split length for the cut piece. For example, you may need to split an existing cut piece if you identify a break in the length.
    Adjust
Select a cut piece from the grid and click Adjust to perform a stock adjustment on the existing cut piece’s length.
    Scrap
Select a cut piece from the grid and click Scrap to send the remaining product to scrap, similar to the Product Unavailable Inventory Entry function.
    Move
Select a cut piece from the grid and click Move to select a new lot for the cut piece. You can cut pieces between lots in the same warehouse. In Product Extended Lot Number Setup, the available quantity for the lot is decreased by the quantity moved, and a transaction record of the inventory adjustment is available in the History tab for the affected lots.
