Converting a single nonstock product to a stocked product

If you decide to carry a nonstock product as a regularly stocked product, you can move the nonstock into inventory in Product Adjust Non-stock/Direct Order Entry. The product must be an active nonstock with quantity available to sell.

Use these instructions to convert a single nonstock to a stocked product.

After all available quantities of a nonstock are converted to stocked inventory, the update process automatically closes the nonstock set. The status is changed to Inactive.

  1. Select Product > Entry > Adjust Nonstock/Direct Order
  2. Verify the Non Stock type and Active options are selected.
  3. Specify a warehouse and other search criteria and click Search.
  4. Select the product you want to convert and verify that it has available quantity to move into inventory.
  5. Click Inventory .
  6. Click OK to open a journal.
  7. In the Non Stock Inventory Defaults window, specify Stock in the Status field.
  8. Specify the Vendor and Product Line.
  9. Complete the remaining fields and click OK.
  10. Specify the quantity you want to move into inventory as a negative amount. Optionally, specify a bin location. Click OK.
  11. Click Yes to close the item. The product can now be maintained in Product Setup and Product Warehouse Product Setup.
