Tiers and Preferences context application

When you enter a product in a Sales Order Entry line, if that product is belongs to a tier group, the context application in Infor Ming.le displays all products in that tier group. In the application, products are arranged by tier and the tiers display in tabs. Click a different tab to display the products for a different tier.

If a product has been assigned a preference, that preference displays beside the a) product name, b) the quantity available, and c) the price. Click Add item to order (+) to replace the current product in the line with the tier item.

  • Product name: The product name as defined in Product Setup.
  • Quantity available: Quantity available is a calculated value from Product Warehouse Product Setup.
  • Price: Price is a calculated value by customer using data from multiple tables. It is the same price displayed in Sales Order Entry or Sales Customer Pricing Inquiry.
  • Preference: If a product has been assigned a preference, that preference displays beside the product name. A preference is a priority attribute, such as choice of warehouse, used in conjunction with a tier and a tier group. Select a value that you have defined in SA Table Code Value Setup-Product Preference.
  • Tier: In the application, products are arranged by tier and the tiers display in tabs. Click a different tab to display the products for a different tier. A tier is a product attribute, such as quality, availability, location, and price, that is used in conjunction with a tier group and a preference. Select a value that you have defined in SA Table Code Values Setup-Product Tier type.
  • Tier Group: The tier group of the product specified in order entry is indirectly displayed. All of the products in that product’s Tier Group display in the context application. Scroll to view the products. A Tier Group is used to group products of the same tier together, so these products display in the Tiers and Preferences context application. This is a free-form field with no validation, but it is key to using tiers and preferences.

The products that are listed in the context application persist until you specify another product in Sales Order Entry, or you close the context application.
