Setting up products for linear cutting

You must define the cutting dimensions for lot products that require linear cutting. Set up the cut information in Product Setup, then set the product as a lot product in Product Warehouse Product Setup. If you use the Infor CPQ Enterprise Configurator to bring in linear cut lot products as components of a build-on-demand kit, you must also set up the product for CPQ Enterprise Configurator.

  1. Select Product > Setup > Product.
  2. Specify the product and click Search.
  3. In the grid, drill down on the product, then click Edit.
  4. Access the Cut tab.
  5. In the Cut Dimension Definition section, select OE Linear Cut under Cut Type.
  6. In the Linear Cut section, specify the product’s cut dimensions:
    Length
Specify whether the length unit of measure has one part or two parts. Specify 1 Part to define a single unit of measure. Specify 2 Part to define a two-part unit of measure.
    1st Part/2nd Part
For each part, specify whether the unit of measure value is an integer or a decimal.
    Part 1 Unit/Part 2 Unit
For each part, specify the unit.
    2nd Part Increment
Specify the increment. This dimension is a subset of the Part 1 Unit and Part 2 Unit dimensions and defines the numerical relationship to each. For example, if the Part 1 Unit is set to foot and the Part 2 Unit is set to inches, the increment would be 12.
  7. If you are setting up a build-on-demand kit of linear cut components that go together, access the General tab and specify these values:
    Kit Type
Specify Build on Demand to indicate that kit functionality can be accessed.
    Value Add Assembly Type
Specify External to indicate that the assembly is external to the Value Add process.
    Allow Transferrable
    Specify Do Not Allow.
  8. If you are setting up a build-on-demand kit whose components are created after configuration in CPQ Enterprise Configurator, access the Cores & Configurator tab and enable the Configure Kit option and specify a Rule Set.

See the Infor CloudSuite Distribution Integration Guide for CPQ Enterprise Configurator and CPQ Enterprise Quoting for additional information about configuring this integration.

  9. Click Save.
  10. Select Product > Setup > Warehouse Product.
  11. Specify the product and click Search.
  12. In the grid, drill down on the product, then click Edit.
  13. Access the General tab.
  14. Specify Lot in the Control field. This sets the product as a lot-controlled product, which allows tracking and allocation of cut pieces against the lot.
  15. Optionally, specify these values:
    Cut Replenishment Length
Specify a minimum cut piece length, that when met, initiates replenishment actions. When the length of an existing, available linear cut lot piece is decreased by being cut or by manual adjustment, the length of the remaining available piece is compared to the specified Cut Replenishment Length value.
    Cut Replenishment Output
Specify the email address to receive the RARR output when the length of the cut piece drops below the Cut Replenishment Length value and Email is the specified Cut Replenishment Output Type.
    Cut Replenishment Output Type
Specify an output type to generate a RARR report when the length of the linear cut piece drops below the specified Cut Replenishment Length value. The generated RRAR report is determined by the Authorized Replenishment Path (ARP) Type value for the linear cut lot product in that warehouse. The output of the RRAR report can be emailed to specified operators in the Cut Replenishment Output field or viewed in the Report web part.
  16. Click Save.
  17. If you are not using the CPQ Enterprise Configurator to create components for a build-on-demand kit of linear cut components, set up the kit components in KP Component Setup.
