You can set up minimal information in Product Catalog Setup for frequently ordered nonstock products. Catalog products are products that are not physically in your warehouse, but you maintain minimal information about them in the system. Consider the catalog product as a nonstock product with information online.
The records minimize the research time that is required to obtain vendor and product information. The records also minimizes the time that is required to enter an order because default values are available. Using product and vendor default values enforce consistency, and enables you to generate reports and view inquiries with consistent data.
