Importing a bank statement with CR Reconciliation Center

Perform these steps only if you use CR Reconciliation Center functionality to import, match, and reconcile bank statements. Before you import, ensure the bank statement for the previous time period has been reconciled. Ensure the file(s) has been downloaded and is available in a local directory or a shared file system. Ensure the subject file has been formatted correctly. Ensure you have already created matching rules.

  1. Select Check Reconciliation > Entry > Reconciliation Center.
  2. Click Import From Excel.
  3. In Statement Date, specify the statement date shown in the file content.
  4. In Ending Balance, specify the ending balance amount shown in the file content.
  5. In File to Import, navigate to the file location and select the file.
  6. Click Import File.
The records from the file are previewed in the Lines grid.
  7. Review the records to ensure the records you expected are shown and shown correctly.
  8. Click Submit to finish and return to the Reconciliation Center.
Note: Re-importing the same, or an updated, file:
    1. If you attempt to re-import this same or an updated file, a message is displayed: Reconciliation Exists. Do you wish to Add to Existing Records?
    2. Click No to return to the reconciliation session in progress.
    3. Click Yes if, perhaps, the file was updated and contains additional records or modified data.
Notice that, in the grid, the Duplicate column shows which records are duplicates in the current reconciliation session.
    4. If all records are duplicated, you can click Cancel to return to the reconciliation session in progress.
    5. If, for example, if you know two deposits were made in the same amount on the same day, you can select all records but the second duplicate, click Delete and click OK. The second duplicate remains in the grid. Click Submit to add that one record to the reconciliation session in progress.
  9. In the Reconciliation Center page, available imported bank statements are listed in the grid.
  10. Select the bank statement you imported.
  11. Next, perform rule matching on this bank statement.
