Multiple level customer rebate types

You can use Customer Rebate Type Setup to assign multiple customer rebate types to a specific customer or ship to so they can participate in more than one rebate program and earn the highest available rebate.

Note: This rebate type is separate from the default price type that is assigned to a customer or ship to in Customer Setup-Ordering or in Customer Ship To Setup-Ordering.

The default rebate type is part of normal system logic hierarchy used to determine the system rebate. If you implement multiple level rebate types, these multiple levels then become part of the hierarchy. If a multiple level record exists, it is compared to the default rebate. The largest rebate is used on the sales order.

The hierarchy considers multiple level customer rebate types for a ship to first. If none exist, multiple level price types at the customer level are then considered.

Multiple-level customer rebate type records can be set up for all PD Pricing Setup rebate records. That includes these pricing records:

Product
Product Line
Product Category
Product Price Type
Rebate Type

In SA Administrator Options-Products-Multiple Level, these two options determine how multiple level customer rebate types are applied:

Allow Override of Product Level Rebates in Multiple Level Search determines whether the system continues to search for multiple level rebate records set up in Customer Rebate Type Setup if the system rebate found is a Product level rebate record (Rebate Level 1) in PD Pricing Setup.
- If this option is selected, the system continues to search for a rebate in Customer Rebate Type Setup that is lower than the system rebate.
- If this option is not selected, the system does not search for a multiple level rebate if the system rebate is a product level rebate record. This applies to either customer rebates or vendor on sale rebates, which is determined by the Multiple Level Customer Rebate Types Calculated option in SA Administrator Options-Products-Multiple Level.
The Multiple Level Customer Rebate Types Calculated option must be Vendor on Sale, Customer, or Both. If Neither is selected, you cannot access Customer Rebate Type Setup to set up multiple level customer rebate types. Vendor on Purchase rebates are not applied.
