Enabling data-level security

Use Birst Admin 2.0 to enable data-level security.

Note: Warehouse security and Divisional security should not be enabled together.
  1. In Birst Modelor 2.0, click Admin.
  2. Click Space Management.
  3. Select the [TENANT]-CSD-Model-ConformedDimension space and then click Security Filters.
  4. To enable the Salesrep security:
    1. Move the mouse pointer over the slsrepout filter and click Edit Security Filter, the pencil icon.
    2. Review the user groups in the list of Space Group Exemptions. These users are exempt from the Salesrep security control. To add a user group to the list of exempt groups, select the group and click Save.
    3. Select the [TENANT]-CSD-Model-Sales and [TENANT]-CSD-Model-AR spaces and repeat steps 4a-b. This applies the Salesrep security to the AR and Sales measures.
    4. To apply the security limitations to historical data, perform a one-time full data load for these tables where Salesrep security is enabled:
      • OEEH
      • OEEL
      • ARET
      • ARSC
      • ARSS
  5. To enable the Warehouse security:
    1. Move the mouse pointer over the whse filter and click Edit Security Filter, the pencil icon.
    2. Review the user groups in the list of Space Group Exemptions. These users are exempt from the Warehouse security control. To add a user group to the list of exempt groups, select the group and click Save.
    3. Select the [TENANT]-CSD-Model-Sales space and repeat steps 5a-b. This applies the Warehouse security to the Sales measures.
    1. To apply the security limitations to historical data in the ICSD table, perform a one-time full data load for the table.
  6. To enable Divisional security:
    1. Move the mouse pointer over the divno filter and click Edit Security Filter, the pencil icon.
    2. Review the user groups in the list of Space Group Exemptions. These users are exempt from the Divisional security control. To add a user group to the list of exempt groups, select the group and click Save.
      Note: The SXBIRST-Model-Administrator user group is the default exemption group.
    3. Repeat steps 6a-b for these model spaces to apply Divisional security to the Sales, AR, AP, IC, Purchase, and GL measures:
      • [TENANT]-CSD-Model-Sales
      • [TENANT]-CSD-Model-AR
      • [TENANT]-CSD-Model-AP
      • [TENANT]-CSD-Model-IC
      • [TENANT]-CSD-Model-Purchase
      • [TENANT]-CSD-Model-GL
    4. To apply the security limitations to historical data, perform a one-time full data load for these tables where Divisional security is enabled:
      • ICSD
      • SASTN
      • APET
      • APSV
      • ARET
      • ARSC
      • GLET
      • GLSA
      • POEH
      • POAPET
      • OEEH
      • OEEL
  7. Process all spaces after security is enabled.
