Integration to Stripe credit card processor

An integration from CloudSuite Distribution to Stripe credit card processor and payment gateway is now supported.

Stripe can be used to process credit card sales and authorizations for orders and received on account payments, as well as referenced returns on sales orders. The integration uses Stripe's Payment Element JavaScript component to ensure the secure handling of credit card data and to promote PCI compliancy. In addition, the Stripe REST API is used to accept and return encoded data with CloudSuite Distribution.

Processing credit card transactions in Stripe in CloudSuite Distribution is nearly identical to the workflow in place for CenPOS. Additional setup is required when configuring a credit card processor in SA Credit Card Processor Setup to enable the new Stripe processor type. When a tokenized credit card is assigned to customers in Customer Credit Card Setup, a new Add Card window is available within the CloudSuite Distribution webUI that integrates with Stripe's Payment element. This ensures the payment data is securely stored within Stripe.

Using the Stripe Terminal component, this integration also supports Stripe internet-connected, pre-certified credit card readers, such as BBPOS WisePOS E. Customer payment information and transaction details, including the status of processed sales, authorizations, and referenced returns, can be viewed in the Stripe Dashboard.

Note: If you are currently using CenPOS, you can implement your Stripe integration while still using CenPOS. You must set up unique payment types for each processor in SA Table Code Value Setup-Payment Types. When you are ready to discontinue using CenPOS and activate the Stripe card readers, you must ensure all open CenPOS authorizations are cleared. Further, if you are currently using CenPOS for gift card processing, you can continue to do so, even while integrating to Stripe for credit card processing purposes. Both integrations can run concurrently, as long as the unique payment types are tied to the appropriate credit card processor.
