Tracking and allocation of linear cuts in Infor WMS now available

Data about linear cuts to lot products is now created in CloudSuite Distribution based on receiving, picking, and shipping records in Infor WMS. This enhancement expands the linear cut lot products function in CloudSuite Distribution to not only track and allocate linear cuts to lot products on orders, but also provide accurate inventory levels for each product in the warehouse.

With this enhancement, these CloudSuite Distribution reports are updated to accept data from WMS to create and update lot cut records in Product Extended Lot Number Setup:

  • WL Entry Batch Receiving Report
  • WL Entry Batch Shipping Report
  • WL Entry Batch Adjust Inventory Report

Lot receiving

When a lot product is received in WMS, you must assign it to a lot and specify the initial length of the piece received. Now, this specified length and the unit associated with the receipt becomes the initial cut piece record in CloudSuite Distribution. After the pallet is closed, you can run the WL Entry Batch Receiving Report to update the product's available quantity and linear cut records in CloudSuite Distribution.

Lot picking and shipping

After a cut piece is picked and shipped in WMS, you can run the WL Entry Batch Shipping Report to update the order and the product's linear cut records in CloudSuite Distribution. The WL Entry Batch Shipping Report deletes any lot processing that may exist for the line and creates new records based upon the lots selected during the picking process. Logic is added to the WL Entry Batch Shipping Report to determine which existing lot cut record should be assigned to the order line. If more than one cut piece is available for the selected lot, then the piece closest to the length on the order that can fulfill the required length is allocated.

Lot stock adjustments

Updated logic in the WL Entry Batch Adjust Inventory Report now determines if an existing lot cut record should be updated with a new length if a stock adjustment from WMS is made for a linear cut lot product.

Feature activation

Use Product Setup and Product Warehouse Product Setup to define a product as a linear cut lot product or a build-on-demand kit that can be used to fabricate a requested product. The kit is made up of components, which include linear cut lot products of a specific length. To use this enhancement, the lot product must be set up in a WMS warehouse.
