IDM Demand Print available in Sales Order Entry and Purchase Order Entry

A new IDM Demand Print option is now available in Sales Order Entry-Print and Purchase Order Entry-Print.

This process saves you time by not having to print through IDM Enterprise Print using a network printer. A local printer at the sales counter can be used when the IDM Demand Print option is enabled. This new functionality is valuable if you are required to print documents immediately at a sales order counter.

You can print these Infor Document Management (IDM) documents using IDM Demand Print from the Sales Order Entry-Print screen:
  • Acknowledgments
  • Pick tickets
  • Delivery notes
  • Invoices

You can print the purchase order document by selecting the new IDM Demand Print option on the Purchase Order Entry-Print screen.

IDM documents are those that are set up as Print Format 4 forms with an Output Type of IDM Output Management or IDM Output Management and Third Party in SA Administrator Options-Documents-Sales Orders-Printing and SA Administrator Options-Documents-Purchase Orders-Printing.

After the IDM Demand Print option is selected in either Sales Order Entry-Print or Purchase Order Entry-Print, you can select a print option and any other applicable menu options necessary for your print job. When you click Submit, your document automatically displays as a PDF file in a separate browser tab, and you can print the document using the browser's Print option. The IDM Demand Print option remains available on the entry function's Print screen until you sign out from Distribution SX.e or clear the IDM Demand Print option.

Documents using IDM as an output type are generated and saved in Infor Document Management by default. These documents can also be emailed and printed if you select a print Type of Email or Print from the Print screen. If IDM Demand Print is not selected, these documents do not display in separate browser tabs when the printing job is submitted from the Sales Order Entry and Purchase Order Entry Print screens. These documents instead can either be viewed in Infor Document Management and emailed, or printed as required.

The PDF files displayed by selecting IDM Demand Print are also stored in the Document Management context application or in the Infor Document Management application if the browser tab is closed before they are printed.

Additional CloudSuite Distribution forms are planned to support IDM Demand Print in future releases.

Feature activation

The IDM Demand Print option is enabled by configuring your documents as Print Format 4 forms with an Output Type of IDM Output Management or IDM Output Management and Third Party in SA Administrator Options-Documents-Sales Orders-Printing or SA Administrator Options-Documents-Purchase Orders-Printing.
