Finalizing and updating the count

Submit the count to update inventory balances on Product Warehouse Product Setup records in Distribution SX.e and save the values to the Storeroom database.

This process generates two email confirmations. After the count is finalized, a count complete email is sent to the email address that is on your Infor Ming.le user record. The email contains the run number, company ID, warehouse, and customer number.

After the count is submitted, the specified email recipient receives notification of success or failure. If the submit process was successful, the run is no longer accessible in Count Entry. The email contains the run number, company ID, warehouse, and customer number, and indicates if any orders were created.

If either the count complete or submit process fails, correct the errors and repeat the process.

  1. In Storeroom, select Cycle Count > Count Entry.
  2. Specify the run number.
  3. Make any final changes.

    If you imported count data for serial- or lot-controlled products, you must assign control numbers if the counted quantity is different than the expected quantity.

    A red exclamation mark icon indicates that the line contains errors and has not been validated. You must correct the error before you can proceed to the next step.

  4. Click Count Complete.

    If you click Count Complete before all counts for the run are entered, this message is displayed: Qty Counted need to be entered at line # x.

    If you successfully initiate the count complete process, this message is displayed: Count Complete is in process. Please select the run # again to see the current status. If you click Count Complete again before the process is complete, the same message is displayed.

  5. In the Run field, select the run again to determine if the count complete process is complete.

    If you reselect the run and the Count Complete button is still available, the count complete process is still running. If you reselect the run and the Submit button is available, the count complete process is complete. You can then proceed to the next step.

  6. Click Submit.
  7. If the count is an initial physical count to load quantities in your Storeroom product balances, select Is this burn off?.
  8. Specify the email address to send confirmation of the submit process.
  9. Click Submit.

    If No Records Exist For This Warehouse and Run # (4741) is displayed on the notification email, the run was cleared using Product Entry Count Update Report in Distribution SX.e before you submitted the count. Delete the run in Storeroom.

    Note:  If you do not have security to submit the count, click Cancel to exit Count Entry . Another operator with the correct security must access the run and finalize the count.
