Assigning a linear cut to fill an order line

Use these steps to review or update existing linear cut records for lot products to fill order requirements:

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Linear Cut Maintenance. Then, click Cut in the toolbar if the Cut view is not already active.
  2. Specify search criteria, and then click Search.
Note: If you do not specify an Order, then Warehouse is a required field. TWL and Storeroom warehouses are excluded
Note: When a build-on-demand kit product is entered in the Product search field, all of the component records on the kit are searched. Components that are set up as linear cut lot products are returned.
  3. Select the order in the grid and click Apply Cuts to assign cut pieces to fill a component or line on an order.
  4. Review the cut information to verify the cut specifications, then select a cut piece from the grid and click one of these options:
    Use Existing Cut
Select a cut piece from the grid and click Use Existing Cut to assign it to fill the order line. Use this option if the existing cut piece does not need to be cut to fill the line or component.
    Cut And Apply
Select a cut piece from the grid and click Cut And Apply to specify the new cut length. A new record is created and assigned to fill the order line, and the quantity shipped or quantity available associated with the product or build-on-demand kit component on the line. The line can now be picked, and the lot quantities are updated in inventory.
  5. Click Save.
