Creating a VA order

  1. Select Value Add > Entry > Order.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Select the type of VA order you want to create, the warehouse for the VA finished product, and the finished product type. If you select Non-Stock, the VA Order Entry–Non-Stock Entry view appears so you can specify general product information that defaults into the Product field in step 6 after you click OK.
  4. Specify the finished VA product number, the quantity, and the unit of measure for the VA finished product.
  5. Click Save. The VA order header information is created and a VA order number is assigned. The VA Order Entry window displays so you can define or update the fabrication process steps.

VA Product Default Setup can be used to set up default values for products and facilitate the VA order entry process. When you enter Value Add transactions for a product that has been set up in VA Product Default Setup, the default values on the Section and Line Items views are from that setup.

  6. Access the Sections view to maintain the VA sections that make up the fabrication process.
    • To add a section, click Add, specify the section Type and Code, and click Save. For the type of section you are creating, you may be prompted to or be able to specify other values in additional fields. When you add a new section, if only one section code exists for the section type (defined in SA Table Code Value Setup), that code is displayed in the Code drop-down field. If you are adding multiple sections of the same type, the default value is the last section code used for that type.
    • To update sections, select a section and click Extend, Specifications, Addons, Create PO, or Notes, if available for the type of section you are updating.
    • To delete a section, select a section, click Delete, and click Yes to confirm.
  7. With a section selected, access the Line Items view maintain the section's lines.
    • You can change products, quantities, and units on inventory comp (in) and inventory in (ii) lines in the grid. Select a line and use the More menu to select to assign serial/lots, view line history, access extended cost and availability information, add or view a note, tie, or delete a line.
    • To tie a line to a purchase order, warehouse transfer or another VA order, select the inventory in (in), external (ex), and internal (in) line you want to tie to and click Sourcing. The VA Order Entry-PO/WT Interface view is displayed. Specify the type of tie you want to create and the other required information. Click OK.

If you are sourcing multiple lines from another warehouse and one of the products is unavailable from the ship from warehouse and is not identified as a nonstock, an error message is displayed. Even if you receive this error, a tied warehouse transfer is created for the other lines on the order that qualify for sourcing.

  8. To change header information, access the Header view, make changes, and click Save.
