Excel output

Output for select reports can be converted to Excel so you can manipulate and modify the data for analysis.

See Reports with Excel output.

To use this feature, you must select these options in the Printing Information section on the Information page of the report to export the report output to Excel:

  • Print Options Page
  • Override Output Style to Text

A text file is generated by the report and then converted into an Excel file by the system. The Excel file is then sent to an email address, the Report Viewer, Dropbox, or a file location, as specified in the Print Type field on the report. If the conversion process fails, then error messages are sent instead of the Excel file.

This feature works in conjunction with the IDM Save Copy option on reports. When the option is selected for a report that will be emailed, the report is also saved to IDM.

If the Excel file is too large to be emailed, then it is sent to your Dropbox account, if available, or saved to Infor Document Management. It is sent to IDM even if IDM Save Copy is not selected.

Note: The naming convention for an Excel file in the AWS S3 bucket is <Report>_<TenantName>_<GUID>.xlsx. The naming convention for the associate log file in the S3 bucket is <Report>_<TenantName>_<GUID>.log. The naming convention of the Excel and log files that are available to the user is mail<######>, such as mail062286.xlsx or mail062286.log. These files are present in the S3 directories only during the conversion process. They are removed after the Excel output is created.

Each Excel file includes an options worksheet and a data sheet worksheet. An error worksheet is included if warnings are generated.
