SA Table Code Value Setup - CAM Activity Code field descriptions

The fields are presented in alphabetical order within each section.

General

Activity

Set up user-defined activity codes to remind you to contact one of these entities:

  • Customer and ship tos
  • Vendors and ship froms
  • Contacts

Use consistent codes to make searching and viewing easier, such as these examples:

  • IC - Initial Call
  • SB - Send Brochures
  • Clot - Outgoing Call
  • Clin - Incoming Call
  • Demo - Schedule Demo
  • Admn - Administrative Activity

You can also set up codes for a specific event. For example, if your company is hosting a distributor fair, you could set up a code for activities to complete for the fair. You can then use this code to search for all open activities before the fair ensure everything is complete.

Extended

Activity Action

Indicate the action you want the system to take for activities with this code. These actions occur when you access the Activities/To Do List window, or when the system automatically checks for new activities based on the refresh interval you have defined. This action is only applicable if the Auto Cleanup Activities option is selected on the Activities/To Do List window.

You can select one of these options:

  • Delete: The system removes the activity from the system. For example, you may have set up an Event Manager event to create a CAM activity for you each time a report that you run is finished. You may not want to view these activities, so you set them up to be automatically deleted after you have been notified of the activity.
  • Inactivate: If you select this option, the system inactivates the activity and assigns the result code that you specify in the Result Code field. For example, if you received an activity notification that an order was placed on credit hold, and then that order was removed from credit hold before you viewed this activity, the activity is inactivated.
  • Leave Alone: Select this option to prevent the system from automatically deleting or inactivating this activity.
Menu Choice

If you selected Menu Choice in the Menu Jump field, specify the specific system function to access to when you click an activity with this activity code. For example, if you are the credit manager and receive an activity notification that an order has been placed on hold, you may want to return to Sales Credit Release Inquiry so you can look at the order and approve it.

Menu Jump

Indicate where you want the system to take you when you click on an activity in the message ticker.

You can select one of these options:

  • Main Activity Window: If you select this option, when you click an activity with this activity code, the Activities/To Do List window opens.
  • Single Activity: If you select this option, when you click an activity with this activity code, the Add/Change Activity window for the specific activity opens.
  • Report Viewer: If you select this option, when you click an activity with this activity code, the Report Viewer opens. This is useful for activities that notify you of report information.
  • Menu Choice: If you select this option, specify the specific system function to access to when you click an activity with this activity code.
Result Code

If you select Inactivate in the Activity Action field, use this field to indicate the result code you want assigned to the inactivated activities.

ION Workflow

Active
Select this option if the ION workflow that is specified for the activity is active.
Name
Specify the name of the ION workflow. Workflows are created in ION Desk.
