KP Administrator Copy Kits Report overview

Kit Production > Administration > KPA Reports > KPAX

Function acronym: KPAX

Use this report to copy existing KP Component Setup records to a new kit record.

Because a substantial amount of information is required for each kit, use this feature to avoid manually entering records for new kits. If several kit products are similar, create a record for one kit product and then copy it to create records for the additional kit products. Edit the copied records to include information that is relevant to each kit product.

Except for the kit product name, the new kit record is identical to the original record. The conditions are verified for each component:

  • An active Product Setup record exists for both the source and destination kit product and the components. The source and destination kits must defined as a kit product.
  • Valid kit records must be set up for all components in KP Component Setup.
  • The destination kit record must not already exist in KP Component Setup.
  • If the component is a group, an active KP Group Setup record exists.
  • If the component is an option, an active KP Option Setup record exists.
  • Unit conversions, if they exist, are valid.
  • Components cannot be a core charge or build-on-demand kit.

The number of kits that are successfully copied, the number of errors, and exception messages are included on the report. All exception conditions are included unless the destination kit does not have a valid Inventory Control record. In that case, this message is included:

Kit to Copy To Not Found in ICSP, No Records Copied
